Step-by-Step: How to Vote by Mail

Step 1: Apply for the Ballot in YOUR County 

Frisco is split between two counties.

You can verify your county through your voter registration card or county elections website.

Denton County

Step 2: Fill Out the Application Carefully

You’ll need:

  • Full legal name
  • Residence address
  • Date of birth
  • Texas ID number or last 4 digits of Social Security number
    (This should match your voter registration record.)
  • Election name/date: Mayoral Runoff Election on June 13, 2026
  • Reason for voting by mail
  • Signature

Step 3: Submit Your Application

Your application must be received by June 2, 2026.

REMEMBER: This is NOT a digital process. Signatures are REQUIRED, so you must mail it in time. APPLY NOW and send ASAP!

Step 4: Watch for Your Ballot in the Mail

After approval, your ballot packet will arrive by mail.

Inside you’ll receive:

  • Official ballot
  • Carrier envelope
  • Instructions

Read everything carefully before filling it out.

Step 5: Complete Your Ballot Correctly

  • Use blue or black ink
  • Follow instructions exactly
  • Sign the carrier envelope
  • Make sure your signature reasonably matches prior voting records

Step 6: Return Your Ballot Early

You can return it by:

  • USPS mail
  • Approved carrier service

Recommended

Mail it at least 7–10 days early to avoid USPS delays.

Your ballot generally must:

  • Arrive by 7 PM on Election Day if not postmarked, OR
  • Be postmarked by Election Day and arrive by the next business day at 5 PM
